Whether you like to go out into deep water or stick a little closer to shore you'll find a charter boat that can take you where you want to go. Most charter boats operate out of Boat Harbour, Urangan at the southern end of Hervey Bay.There's also the M.V. Day Tripper and the Fighting Whiting. The M.V. Beach Fishing
The beach at Hervey Bay stretches for many kilometres and, if beach fishing is your thing, you can fish anywhere along the full length of the beach.If you want to get a bit further out into the bay without getting your feet wet and without the cost of a fishing charter you will find that fishing off the piers is definitely for you. There are piers at Scarness, Torquay and Urangan and, while the first two can only be fished if the tide is right, you can fish from the Urangan pier at any time of the day or night.
Fishing in Hervey Bay isn't just limited to charters and beach fishing. Many people who come to fish Hervey Bay bring their own boats and if that works for you then you'll find a number of boat ramps at various places along the beach.
Unfortunately some boat ramps are tidal but the ramps at Gattaker's Bay and Urangan Boat Club are available at all tide levels.
